The centrepiece for this destination golf resort is Castle Stuart Golf Links, a championship links course overlooking the Moray Firth and well-known landmarks that are synonymous with Inverness and the Black Isle. In its first full year of operation the course opened to world wide acclaim and was awarded Scottish Golf Course of the Year by Golf Tourisn Scotland and Overseas Destination of the Year by Golf Digest.
The resort will include a small luxury hotel and spa, a 'resort ownership', lodges and apartments, plus a second seaside course. Castle Stuarts goal is to add to the rich fabric of golf in the Scottish Highlands - a fabric made rich by Royal Dornoch, Nairn and many other fine golf clubs within the Highlands of Scotland.
Indeed, many are saying that Parsinen’s foray in Scottish golf beats even his layout at Kingsbarns - an established European Tour event host.
With that East coast masterpiece, Parsinen transformed what had been an area of unkempt links into one of the most talked about courses in the world, and he and Hanse have achieved exactly the same effect on the banks of the Moray Firth near Inverness.
The level of acclaim it has enjoyed hasn’t been confined to Scotland either. A highly reputable US-based survey of the finest golf courses in the world judged Castle Stuart as the very best newcomer of 2009.
It was five years in the making but 2010 was the first full year that golf was played on Castle Stuart’s links, which is but a ten-minute drive from Inverness city centre.
With such a high pedigree, visitors have come flocking to enjoy a course that has been constructed to provide visually arresting golf, with spectacular scenery of Kessock Bridge, Alturlie Point, Ben Wyvis and the 17th Century Castle Stuart itself.
Castle Stuart Golf Links lies just over an hours drive from the Royal Golf Hotel in Dornoch, 4 miles from Inverness city centre and only 2 miles from Inverness Airport.
