TRN Ghillie – Fly fishing lessons and trips
Have you ever wanted to try fly fishing but never had a chance? Are you an enthusiast, keen to fish beautiful Highland lochs? Join Tim, a hugely experienced ghillie, for an introduction to fly fishing, an improver session or simply a magical day, rod in hand, in Sutherland’s spectacular scenery. All tackle is provided, including life jackets and lunch can be arranged at a small additional cost of just £5.– Maximum group of 3 people.– A half day’s expedition (3 hours) @ £65 and a full day £110 –
Clay Pigeon Shooting at Pitgrudy Farm
Private clay pigeon shooting sessions for all standards from absolute beginners to experienced shots are available and include gun hire, ammunition and clays as required. A 1 hour session costs £40 per person with a maximum of 4 people of similar standard.
Golf Lessons for Couples
Sharing lessons are a fun and informative way to experience everything golf has to offer. Our Head Teaching Professional Gary Dingwall will take you through a 2 hour session covering driving, irons, chipping and putting. The instruction includes video analysis which can be reviewed afterwards whilst you enjoy a relaxing drink in the clubhouse.
Get on your bike and see the sights of the North Highlands by racing through woodland and conquering the steep inclines of the local hills. Highland Wildcat has constructed an 18km trail in the Golspie area which accesses Ben Bhraggie and caters for all abilities, from beginner to expert.
The North Highlands is a popular choice for wildlife spotting, with a mixture of dolphins, minke whales, grey and common seals often sighted from the beach. Roe deer, red deer, hedgehog, moles, shrews, voles, wood mice, fox, stoat, weasel and rabbit are all common, and if you’re very lucky, you might catch sight of the wildcat, which resides in woods and the hills.

Discover Brora’s archaeological and industrial past from the Stone Age, right up to present day at Brora Heritage Centre. An exhibition, interactive displays and a dinosaur play area will keep the whole family entertained whilst providing some fascinating facts about the village’s heritage.
Visit the North West Highland Geopark, an area of geological interest. Covering huge areas of West Sutherland and Wester Ross, the diverse landscape of mountains, sandy beaches, ancient settlements and present day communities is of world class importance and quality. In preparation for your visit, the Orcadian Stone Company in Golspie is recommended, offering insight into the geological heritage of this part of the world.
